Rohit will be the captain in the WTC Final, Champions Trophy- Jay Shah.
Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jai Shah has said that after the T-20 World Cup, we will win the Champions Trophy and World Test Championship (WTC) final in 2025 under the captaincy of Rohit.
Shah released a video congratulating Team India on winning the T-20 World Cup. They said- “I had said in Rajkot that in June 2024, we will win hearts as well as the cup. We will also hoist the Indian flag and our captain hoisted the flag. This triumph was largely attributed to the final five overs.
” I would like to thank Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya for this contribution. After this victory, the next stop is the WTC Final and Champions Trophy. I am confident that under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, we will become champions in both these tournaments.”
Shah declared that he wanted to thank Virat Kohli, Coach Rahul Dravid, Captain Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja for the T20 World Cup victory. We were defeated in the World Test Championship final in June 2023. We gained hearts in November 2023 after 10 victories, but we were unable to win the cup.
The Champions Trophy is to be played in Pakistan in 2025. The final match of the Champions Trophy will be held on March 9. At the same time, the final of the World Test Championship 2025 will be played at Lord’s in London in June.
India won the T-20 World Cup for the second time this time. Earlier, India had won the T-20 World Cup in 2007. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the captain of Team India when it won the T-20 World Cup 17 years ago. Team India won the T-20 World Cup in 2024 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. At the same time, India last won the One-Day World Cup in 2011.
