Spain has won the European Cup for a record fourth time. By defeating England 2-1 in the finals held in Berlin, Germany, Spain set the record for winning the Euro for the fourth time.

Nico Williams and Mikel Oyazabal scored for Spain. England’s Cole Palmer returned a goal. Despite the scoreless tie at the end of the first half, three goals were scored in the second half.

Spain took the lead in the 47th minute of play thanks to a goal by Nico Williams.

But in the 73rd minute, Cole Palmer equalized for England. At the appointed time, the match was moving towards a tie, and in the 86th minute, Oyabajal scored and gave Spain a 2-1 lead. Keeping that lead, Spain won the match and became the European champion for the fourth time.

Spain won the title for the first time in 1964 and won the Euros consecutively in 2008 and 2012. Spain has become the most successful team in the Euro.

England is the runner-up for the second time in a row. Earlier, in the final of Euro 2021, England lost to Italy in a penalty shootout at home.

Spain won all 7 matches they played in Euro 2024. In the group stage, England won 3-0 over Croatia and 1-0 over Italy and Albania, keeping a clean sheet record.

 In the last 16, Spain defeated Georgia, the new entrant of Euro 4-1, in the quarter-finals, they defeated the host Germany, France in the semi-finals, and England in the final with the same result of 2-1. Spain scored a total of 15 goals throughout the tournament and conceded 4 goals.
