An Indian citizen has died in the ongoing Middle East military conflict after a drone attack near Oman. The strike was reportedly carried out by forces linked to Iran.
According to the BBC, Oman’s Maritime Security Centre confirmed that the attack targeted an oil tanker named “MKD Vyom,” which sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands.
Officials said the drone strike hit the vessel’s engine room, causing a fire followed by an explosion. One Indian crew member was killed in the incident.
Following the attack, all 21 crew members on board were evacuated safely. The rescued personnel included 16 Indians, four Bangladeshis, and one Ukrainian national.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation as tensions in the region remain high, raising concerns about the safety of commercial shipping routes and foreign workers in the conflict zone.
